Managed property

Also called: Managed accommodation, Category 2 specified accommodation

In one sentence

Category 2 specified accommodation: not-for-profit supported housing where the resident was admitted to meet a support need, and support can come from anyone.

A managed property is provided by a housing association, registered charity, voluntary organisation or county council. The resident must have been admitted to meet a need for care, support or supervision and must receive it, but the landlord does not have to provide it.

Rent is assessed under standard Housing Benefit rules, so the protection exempt accommodation has on rent levels does not apply.
